



10 Stress Buster Tips:
1. Don't stress about being stressed- If your stressed out admit it. Don't beat yourself up. Focusing on being stressed only makes things worse.
2. Get some sleep- Getting sleep can help your mind re-focus, re-charge, and re-balance.
3. Get some food- Go eat something healthy like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein.
4. Get some exersize- A relaxing 30 minute walk listening to your favorite music can do wonders.
5. Get some quiet time- If it has been a while since you have had some alone time find a few moments of peace and quiet, no cell phones, T.V. or friends.
6. Get some social time- If you've been working non stop on schoolwork for hours on end you could be stressed out because you are to focused on getting things done. Take a break, go see a movie or hang out with friend.
7. Get some fun- If your stressed out about one particular assignment or test try to figure out a way to make the assignment or study time a little more fun and enjoyable.
8. Get some distance- If you are trying to handle your own problems and help others take a step back and evaluate. After all you can't help anyone if you're not in a state to help yourself.
9. Get a little help- Most colleges have counseling centers don't be afraid to make an apointment.
10. Get some perspective- You need to remember the reason why your in college-Your Adedemics. Make sure you keep yourself focused on your acedemic goal.
6 Meditation Techniques
1. Close your eyes- Breathe in through your nose and out through your lips until you feel your breathing is calm and under control.
2. Count backwards- Slowly count backward from five to one. Repeat this until you feel your mind focus less on your stressful thoughts.
3. Focus on your body- Notice the areas of your body that are tense and relax them. Feel your muscles let go. Relax your face, your eyes, and your jaw.
4. Start visualizing- Try to mentally transport yourself somewhere truely relaxing. Imagine this place with all of your senses, continue slow and measured breathing.
5. Wipe negative thoughts away- Stay focused on all of the relaxing world around you, allow no negative thoughts in.
6. Give yourself positive affirmations- Say to yourself- I believe in me, I love myself, I am a great person, I feel calm and serene, I will cure my anxiety, I am having a good day. Anytime stress or negative thoughts come mentally transport them away.
